XXIV International Conference on Sport Rehabilitation and Traumatology - 11th-12th April, 2015, London

Throughout the years the International Conference on Sports Rehabilitation and Traumatology has become a meeting point of the International Football Medicine Community, gathering sport medicine, physiotherapy and sport science specialists and professionals from almost 77 different countries around the world.

Thanks to the support of FIFA's Medical Assessment and Research Centre (F-MARC) department, and to the international community, the Conference has achieved high scientific and cultural levels.

This Football Medicine Strategies Conference will cover all topics of interest for practitioners and individuals involved in the management of and delivery of care to professional and grassroots players (Sport physicians, physiatrists, orthopaedic surgeons, radiologists, chiropractors, osteopaths, physiotherapists, athletic trainers, masseurs, coach team and team managers).

This conference explores the issue of player care by addressing four main scientific areas that represent the spheres of activity of all specialists dealing with players: sports medicine and football, football orthopaedics and surgery, football rehabilitation and return to sport, football science and training methods. There are also special sessions, this year, dedicated to important topics such as concussion, sudden death, mental performance aspects, nutrition and doping.

The conference is, above all, an opportunity for discussion and represent an opportunity for the exchange of ideas and experiences. Therefore in this book, in addition to the abstracts the invited speakers sent to us before the conference, we have inserted all the abstracts that have been accepted for free oral communications and poster presentations.

We are confident from previous experience of editions of the International Conference on Sports Rehabilitation and Traumatology that this volume will feed the debate on the Football Medicine Strategies for Player Care, and we thank all tha authors who contributed in the realisation of this book.
